Oracle RAC, ASM and Data Guard Administration
This is a build-and-break course. Delegates install Grid Infrastructure on a multi-node cluster, create ASM disk groups, deploy a RAC database, configure a standby, and then spend a substantial part of the course deliberately failing components to observe what happens and practise recovery.
Cache fusion and the interconnect receive early and detailed attention. Most RAC performance problems trace back to global cache waits, and an administrator who cannot read those waits will misdiagnose a cluster as a storage or application problem.
Troubleshooting Clusterware is treated as a core skill rather than an appendix. Node evictions, split brain, voting disk loss and OCR corruption are covered as scenarios delegates work through, because these are the incidents that define whether a DBA is trusted with a production cluster.
