Oracle Exadata and Exadata Cloud@Customer
The course is organised around the storage server, because that is what makes Exadata different. Smart Scan, storage indexes, Hybrid Columnar Compression and Flash Cache all execute below the database tier, and understanding when each engages — and more importantly when it silently does not — is the core skill.
Delegates spend substantial time with CELLCLI and the storage server command set, reading metrics and diagnosing whether a query offloaded correctly. A great deal of Exadata performance work amounts to establishing why a statement fell back to conventional block access.
The cloud modules are treated as genuinely different operating models rather than a footnote. Exadata Cloud@Customer changes who holds root, what patching windows look like and where the support boundary sits, and administrators moving from on-premises Exadata are routinely surprised by those constraints.
