Oracle EBS to Fusion Cloud Migration

Oracle EBS to Fusion Cloud Migration

The single most important thing an EBS practitioner has to unlearn is data loading. There is no direct SQL access to the Fusion database. No table inserts, no PL/SQL against base tables, no interface-table population by concurrent program. All data enters through FBDI or HDL templates, into staging and interface tables, validated by Oracle-supplied import programs. Every extract, transform and load design in this course starts from that constraint.

The second theme is customisation. An EBS estate carries years of accumulated custom code, and Fusion does not accept most of it. Delegates learn to classify each customisation as redundant, replaceable by delivered functionality, mappable to a flexfield, or genuinely requiring an extension or integration — and to make that assessment early, because it drives scope and cost more than anything else.

The third theme is the parallel-run window. Until cutover, an organisation pays for EBS support and infrastructure alongside the Fusion subscription and the implementation team. Advisory analysis has put an eighteen-month overlap at several million dollars above the pre-migration baseline for a large enterprise. Shortening that window has direct financial payoff, and much of the course is about how.

    • Certification Exam: EBS to Fusion Cloud Migration

Who should attend

Aimed at practitioners who will plan, lead or execute a migration programme rather than only configure the target system.

  • EBS functional and technical consultants moving into cloud migration work
  • ERP programme and project managers scoping a Fusion transition
  • Solution architects designing the target state
  • Data migration leads and ETL developers
  • Finance, HR and supply chain leads sponsoring a migration
  • Managed service providers advising clients on cloud strategy

Assumed knowledge: working familiarity with E-Business Suite in either a functional or technical capacity. Prior Fusion Cloud exposure is helpful but not required. Delegates intending to configure the target system are advised to take the relevant AppSolWorld Fusion course alongside this one.
