Multicloud and Cloud Migration

Multicloud and Cloud Migration

Most migration failures are not technical. They are failures of assessment: a workload moved before anyone established what depended on it, a database lifted without checking licensing, a cutover scheduled without a rollback. The first third of this course is therefore about discovery, dependency mapping and honest scoping, before any workload moves.

The second theme is that multicloud is not four single-cloud practices running in parallel. Identity, networking, cost management and security each need a cross-cloud answer, and organisations that defer those decisions end up with four disconnected estates and no way to reason about the whole.

Cross-cloud connectivity gets a full module because it changed materially in 2026. Split-stack architectures — an application on one provider with its data on another, connected privately at low latency — are now supportable in ways they were not, and that opens design options worth knowing about.

Delegates work through a migration case study end to end: assessment, wave planning, landing zone design, pilot migration, cutover and post-migration operations, with cost modelled at each stage.

Who should attend

Aimed at practitioners planning or executing cloud migrations, or responsible for an estate spanning more than one provider.

  • Cloud architects working across more than one platform
  • Infrastructure leads planning a migration programme
  • Migration programme and project managers
  • DBAs and application owners whose workloads are moving
  • FinOps and cost management practitioners
  • Consultants advising clients on cloud strategy
  • Teams supporting an estate that became multicloud by accident

Assumed knowledge: working familiarity with at least one cloud platform, plus general infrastructure, networking and identity concepts. Delegates need not be certified on any provider, but those entirely new to cloud should take one of the AppSolWorld architect courses first. Deep expertise in all four providers is not expected; the course teaches how to reason across them.
