Kubernetes and Docker
Everything in this course happens at a terminal. The certification exams are hands-on tasks against a live cluster, so lecture time is kept short and delegates work in their own environment from the first session onward.
Troubleshooting is treated as the main event rather than a closing module. Delegates are given broken clusters — a node that will not join, a pod stuck in CrashLoopBackOff, a service that resolves but never reaches its backend, a control plane component that failed silently — and must diagnose them under time pressure. This mirrors both the exam and the job.
Speed at the command line is taught deliberately. The exam is time-constrained and candidates who navigate documentation slowly or write YAML from scratch run out of time regardless of what they know. Imperative command generation, kubectl aliases and efficient documentation lookup are drilled throughout.
Docker is covered as the foundation it is. The exams do not test it deeply, but a delegate who does not understand images, layers and container runtimes will struggle to reason about why a pod behaves as it does.

Who should attend
Aimed at engineers who will run or build on Kubernetes in production.
- DevOps and platform engineers
- Systems administrators moving into cloud-native operations
- Developers deploying to Kubernetes clusters
- Site reliability engineers
- Cloud architects who need working knowledge rather than slideware
- Consultants supporting containerised estates
Assumed knowledge: comfortable Linux command line, basic networking concepts, and familiarity with YAML. Prior container experience is helpful but not required, since Docker is covered from first principles. Delegates with no Linux background should address that first; this course moves quickly at the terminal. Note that the certifications are valid for two years for anything earned after April 2024, and each exam fee includes one free retake.
